Billed as Japan's largest international cider event, the Japan Cider Cup was originally launched in 2022 and it brings together both domestic and international cider producers at the Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe convention center. Visitors to the event can compare and contrast a variety of cider types to determine a favorite, who will then be crowned the Cider Cup champion.
Entry to the event itself is free, but drink sampling is done via a ticket system which can be arranged at the venue. If you find a cider you particularly like, you can also buy direct from the vendors while you're there.
Getting there
Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe is located just two minutes on foot from Keio-Hachioji Station on the Keio Line, or five minutes on foot from Hachioji Station on the JR Chuo Main Line, Hachiko Line, and Yokohama Line. Visitors are advised to utilize public transportation wherever possible as parking is limited.
