One way to celebrate the arrival of spring in Tokyo is at the Roppongi Hills Spring Festival, held for three days in early April. This annual event blends traditional Japanese culture with the modern charm of Roppongi Hills, offering a unique experience in the heart of the city.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of authentic Japanese performing arts on display at the event, reflecting the festival’s commitment to preserving and sharing cultural heritage. Adding to the atmosphere, a variety of food stalls will serve seasonal, spring-inspired dishes, so be sure to bring along some yen if you plan on doing some taste testing!
If you will be attending, please note that the festival's operating hours differ throughout the event. On the Friday, the event runs from 5pm until 8pm, and on the Saturday and Sunday the hours will be 12pm until 6pm. A comprehensive rundown of the activities taking place and the times they will be occurring can be found on the official Roppongi Hills website here.
Getting there
The Roppongi Hills Spring Festival takes place at Roppongi Hills Arena, which can be easily accessed from Roppongi Station (Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and the Toei Oedo Line).
