Teatime exudes an air of fancy high society and creates a romantic atmosphere of a time long ago. But such an experience shouldn’t be relinquished to the past; and indeed, there are many places where the modern traveler can enjoy a cozy respite accompanied by tea and dessert sets. In fact, it’s one of my guilty pleasures.
This time, though, Tokyo takes it a step farther. How about tea time on a double-decker London-style bus while cruising around famous Tokyo sites?
That’s right. Enjoy English-style tea from the Meguro-located salon Three Tiers on board a bus imported all the way from the UK by Upstar Co., Ltd. This collaborative service manifests as a delightful romp around Tokyo to some of the best places—Tokyo Station, Tokyo Tower, Rainbow Bridge, Kabukiza Theater, and Tsukiji—all while enjoying some delectable treats and tea.
For 4,000 yen (adults), you’ll not only be taken around Tokyo but also feast on scones, jams, clotted cream, baked sweets, and a hot cup of tea, originally blended by Three Tiers.
Dates are extremely limited—every Saturday and Sunday from November 6th to 28th, as well as November 3rd and 23rd, 2021—with two time slots each day—1 pm to 2 pm or 3 pm to 4 pm. The cruising teatime will last about one hour and the bus seats a maximum of 20 people.
You definitely don’t want to miss out on this unique experience that blends Tokyo and London like milk in tea.
