Hashigo-nori is a traditional performance that attempts to pass on the techniques and methods of fireman in the Edo period. The performance is held every year on the coming-of-age day (second Monday of January) in front of the main hall of the Ikegami Honmonji by the Omori Steeplejack Association. Don’t miss their acrobatic performances on top of a 6m bamboo ladder only supported by ground crews using hooked wooden poles. There will be guidance in English and French on the day of the event.
Getting there
Ten minute walk from Ikegami Station on Tokyu Ikegami Line. Twelve minute walk from Nishimagome Station on Toei Asakusa Line.
