There's no doubting that Japan has a wealth of long-standing artistic traditions that have stood the test of time. They're often seen as an integral part of the country's culture, and are revered not just on a domestic level but internationally. Many modern artists are drawing on those long-standing traditions to create unique pieces with nods to the past, and a special event at the Miyazaki Art Center looks into this.

Super crafts of the Reiwa Era will explore works of 12 artists born after 1970, including Riusuke Fukahori, Takuro Kuwata, and Chiki Hashimoto to name just a few.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen.

Getting there

The Miyazaki Art Center is located around 15 minutes on foot from the JR Miyazaki Station's West Exit. The station is served by the Nippō Main Line.

For those who opt to drive, the venue is around 15 minutes driving time from the Miyazaki Expressway's Miyazaki IC. There is no dedicated parking lot at the art center, but there are two affiliated parking lots in close walking distance. Details about the lots can be found on the official website.
