If you're looking for some family friendly fun this winter, look no further than the Hitsujigaoka Snow Park event. Held for the first time back in 2004, the event includes various ways to interact with snow – there is an 80-meter long snow tubing course, a ski walking experience, snowman building, snow strider bike riding areas (pedal-free bikes suitable for 2 to 5 year olds), and sledding to name just a handful of activities.
The best part is that all of the experiences and equipment rentals are free of charge, making it an ultra budget-friendly day out.
Getting there
The event takes place at the Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, which can be accessed by bus from Fukuzumi Station on the Tōhō Line. Take the number 84 bus for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the Hitsujigaoka stop.
For those who opt to drive, free on-site parking is available.
