The Kokubu River Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual event that takes place in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, and it's known for being a sakura event with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The blossoming trees stretch all the way from Reimei Bridge to Shishimai Bridge, and they're complemented by the vivid yellows of nanohana flowers also in bloom.
Alongside all of the floral beauty to appreciate, visitors can also enjoy music performances from local junior high school brass bands and a variety of market stalls. The area is also a popular spot for birdwatching, with white herons and ducks frequenting the riverbank.
The event itself has no admission fee, but do bring yen if you plan on making any purchases from vendors. Please note the event may be canceled or have elements amended in the case of inclement weather.
Getting there
