Welcoming a new year is done in different ways across the globe, and one of Japan's customs is celebrating hatsuhinode, or the first sunrise of the year. The First Sunrise event at Tokyo Skytree allows a select number of visitors to enjoy first light over the city from an incredible vantage point on a strictly first-come, first-served basis.
Getting there
Tokyo Skytree can be conveniently accessed from either the Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Skytree Line (2 minutes away on foot), or Oshiage Station on the Hanzomon Line (6 minutes away on foot).
