A number of vegan restaurants have popped up on the Tokyo foodie scene in recent years, and one which has gone from strength to strength is Falafel Brothers. Originally starting with their Roppongi store back in 2017, they've expanded to two additional locations in Ebisu and Shibuya.
Now, if the name wasn't a dead giveaway, the store specializes in falafel, and there are numerous ways you can enjoy it. My go-to option is the falafel pita sandwich which comes in a half (¥ 550) and a full-size option (¥ 1000) -- from there, you choose your base veggie (lettuce, kale, or spinach), additional salads, and a variety of sauces. The customizable nature of the sandwiches makes it easy to tailor them to your own flavor preferences, and all of the salads and sauces are vegan approved, so no worries there. If you're not really feeling a sandwich there are also falafel salad bowls (¥ 1100) and falafel rice plates (¥ 1000) to choose from.
Visitors looking for a dessert to finish their meal with are in luck here, too - there are usually a variety of sweet options including cakes and cheesecakes to choose from. As is the case with the rest of their menu, the desserts are also vegan!
If you're looking for a hearty, fresh, and satisfying vegan-friendly meal in a convenient location, Falafel Brothers in Roppongi is definitely worth a visit.
