As a family of burger lovers, it was no surprise to hear my wife suddenly cry out, "We've got to try the burgers there!" My better half had been silent for a while, scouring the internet for a decent burger store when she came across the famous Californian burger chain, Carl's Jr. Ever subservient to the demands of burger fandom, we all hopped onto the train and headed off to the ever energetic Akihabara to try the famous burgers of Carl's Jr.
Unlike their store opening five or so years ago, we were grateful that we didn't have to wait for several hours to enter. Once we stepped inside we were immediately greeted by the typical subdued and relaxing ambience of many Japanese restaurants and eateries. The store was busy too but not overly so and we soon had the kids settled in their seats. Now, it was menu time.
Carl's Jr. offers a range of rugged Angus beef burgers along with their range of classic burgers. Perhaps we were less ravenous than we had imagined ourselves to be but we ended up settling for the rather simple Famous Burger from their classic range and a tray of Crisscut Fries. The burgers were a very reasonable price at only JPY590 a burger while the fries went for JPY320.
The kids absolutely loved their burgers and fries and it didn't take them very long to devour their order. Kids, right? Always hungry for burgers and fries. The downside was that half of papa's burger ended up heading the way of the little ones... At least the half that I did eat tasted nice and I do know that my wife loved hers. Carl's Jr, I will be back....
