Tea culture and Japan are seen as going hand in hand, but most of the time the association is with green tea. Brew Tea Co, on the backstreets of the trendy Omotesando area of Tokyo shakes up that notion a little, and offers a wide variety of tasty choices when it comes to the leafy beverage.

The tea varieties on offer here run the gamut, from traditional English Breakfast and Earl Grey brews, through to a lovely chai, a fresh Moroccan Mint, and their zingy lemon and ginger tea, which is perfect for any pesky colds you may encounter at this time of year. If you find something that you like, they also sell their teas in both tea bag and loose leaf varieties to enjoy at home. Each tea blend comes in a different colored box, and it's hard to resist wanting to pick up one of each, whether it's for yourself or as a gift for the tea lovers in your life. If you don't want to fully commit to one tea, they also offer small sampler packs with three different tea bags in them - it's a good way to try before you buy!

The store has a seating area where you can enjoy your beverage of choice, but the space is quite limited, so it may be better to assume you'll need to grab your drink and go. They're located in close proximity to the renowned Dominique Ansel Bakery which is how I originally stumbled across them, and a cup of tea made for the perfect drink to enjoy after consuming a few too many sweets! If you are planning to stop by, they are open every day except Tuesdays.

Getting there

Brew Tea Co is located a four minute walk from Omotesando Station's B4 exit, which is accessible via the Ginza, Hanzomon and Chiyoda Tokyo Metro lines.
