Aritayaki Yakimono Ichiba

Arita Porcelain in the heart of Tokyo

Arita, in Saga Prefecture, is often regarded as the birthplace of Japanese pottery. It’s a wonderful part of Japan to visit, but if you don't have plans to visit the region you can still get your hands on Arita porcelain in the heart of Tokyo. Aritayaki Yakimono Ichibata is situated in Ebisu, and stocks a range of Arita porcelain pieces - they've got everything from adorable chopstick rests and animal ornaments, to tea cups, coffee mugs and vases.

If you do find pieces that you want to purchase but have concerns about carrying them throughout the rest of your travels in Japan, the store offers international shipping via Japan Post’s express mail service.

Do note that the store is closed on the second, fourth, and fifth (if applicable) Sundays of the month.

Getting there

Aritayaki Yakimono Ichiba is located approximately 7 minutes on foot from Ebisu Station. The station is accessible via the JR Yamanote, Shonan Shinjuku, and Saikyo lines, or the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.
