Shiga's Mizunomori Water Botanical Garden is home to over 150 types of water lilies, including both tropical water lilies that reside in greenhouses, and cold-resistant water lilies that take up space in the ponds outside. They typically begin to bloom in early June, and an annual water lily exhibition is scheduled to coincide with this.
Along with the myriad of water lilies on display, there will be other blooms to appreciate like the summer favorite of lotus flowers. Refreshments like lotus seed soft serve ice cream will also be available for purchase at the event.
Admission to the exhibition is ¥300 for adults, ¥150 for those aged 65 years old and over, and ¥250 for High school / university students. Junior high school aged students and younger receive free admission.
