Kadena Air Base is a United States Air Force installation located on the island of Okinawa, and it plays a critical role in maintaining regional security and fostering partnerships with Japan and other allies in the region. Kadena AmericaFest celebrates this partnership – and friendship – with Japan, and the open-base event allows visitors to check out aircraft displays, music performances, fireworks, and American food.
There will also be vendors selling military-related merchandise, including squadron patches, t-shirts, and even C-130 plush toys.
Please note that while this is an open base event, there are still entry requirements which include the presentation of a valid ID. Please see the infographic from the Kadena Force Support Squadron below for details – the requirements differ depending on whether you are a Japanese or non-Japanese passport holder.
