Ramen is one of Japan's most loved dishes, and its versatility, affordability, and comforting appeal have contributed to its widespread popularity. The Kitakyushu Ramen Championship is a celebration of this, with numerous vendors converging on Mojiko Retro Central Plaza to serve up their specialty noodle dishes. There will be various broths and ingredients used in the ramen types on offer, so attendees can enjoy a bit of a culinary journey.
Once visitors have picked their favorite ramen, they're able to vote for their top choice to determine an eventual ramen championship winner.
Advance tickets for the event are priced at 1300 JPY, which covers three ramen servings of your choice. Tickets purchased on the day are slightly more expensive, at 500 JPY per ramen serving.
Getting there
Mojiko Retro Central Plaza is located just six minutes on foot from Mojiko Station, which is served by the Kagoshima Main Line. As parking around the area is limited, visitors are advised to use public transport wherever possible.
