A special exhibition at the Okazaki City Art Museum will explore a variety of pieces from Watanabe Shotei (1851 - 1918), a Japanese artist who was famous for his works in the Nihonga genre. He was the first Japanese painter to travel to France in 1878, and he lived there for three years in order to study Western painting.
This exhibition will focus on his works that depict birds and flowers, including the likes of "Birds on a Branch" (1887) and "Peony with butterflies" (1893).
Adult admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen, and no advance reservations are required.
