If you're driving along National Route 191 to visit some of Yamaguchi's iconic sights like Tsunoshima Bridge or the Motonosumi Inari Shrine, you'll likely pass by the Michinoeki Kitaura Kaido Hohoku. This roadside rest area is a great place to pick up some local souvenirs, grab a bite to eat at the on-site restaurant, or simply as a spot to break up your drive.
The view from the restaurant is tranquil and calming, and makes for a pleasant spot to enjoy a meal. There are many different food options available to choose from, including soba, udon, curry rice and ramen. There's also a small bakery where you can pick up a sweet treat to take on the road with you as you continue your journey.
Getting there
Michinoeki Kitaura Kaido Hohoku is located just off National Route 191, which connects Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi Prefecture with Naka-ku in Hiroshima Prefecture. It's also under ten minutes drive from the iconic Tsunoshima Bridge.
