Pikachu Afternoon Tea

Enjoy this fun high tea in either Tokyo or Nagoya

There are a wide variety of ways that Pokémon fans can enjoy Japan, and one of the newest on the calendar is a Pikachu-themed afternoon tea. The event will be taking place at two locations – The Strings Omotesando (Tokyo) and The Strings Nagoya – and includes a variety of menu items designed with fun in mind.

Some of the tasty treats that visitors can enjoy as part of the afternoon tea include cheeseburger sliders complete with yellow buns, caramel macarons dusted with cocoa powder to emulate the stripes on Pikachu's back, and a mango pudding topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

There are also Pikachu-themed drinks available for purchase (separate to the afternoon tea menu), including a Pikachu fruit mocktail, a Pikachu passionfruit ade, or a latte topped with a Pikachu motif.

It's not just the food that's themed, either. The Strings locations are also being decked out in Pikachu décor, making for some cute photo spots.

If you are planning to attend one of the afternoon tea events, do note that the dates differ at the two locations. The Strings Omotesando event is running from April 24 (Monday) to July 3 (Monday), 2023, and The Strings Nagoya event is running from June 1 (Thursday) to August 31 (Thursday), 2023. Reservations for the Omotesando afternoon tea can be made here, and for the Nagoya afternoon tea here.

Getting there

The Strings Omotesando is located outside Omotesando Station's B5 exit. The station is served by the Ginza, Hanzomon, and Chiyoda Tokyo Metro Subway Lines.

The Strings Nagoya is located 15 minutes on foot from the Sakura Dori exit of Nagoya Station. The station is served by numerous lines, including the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, the Tōkaidō Main Line, and the Chūō Main Line to name just a few.
