Notice
Latest on Tokyo TowerOtsukimi, or moon viewing, is an important event during autumn in Japan. It's a time to appreciate the year's harvest, and also an occasion that fosters a connection with nature and the changing seasons. The full moon for September 2023 is on the 29th of the month, and you can celebrate otsukimi at Tokyo Tower by taking the stairs up to the top!
The Otsukimi Outside Staircase Walk will see Tokyo Tower's staircase open until 9pm for three days so that patrons can enjoy the harvest moon view – on typical days the staircase is only open from 9am until 4pm.
Climbing the stairs still requires the usual observation deck admission fee, which is priced at 1200 JPY for adults.
Getting there
Tokyo Tower can be accessed in around 5 minutes on foot from Akabanebashi Station, which is served by the Toei Oedo subway line.
For those who opt to drive, the venue is around 7 minutes from the Shiba-Koen exit of the Shuto Expressway. Parking is available adjacent to the tower – it's charged at 600 JPY for the first hour and then 300 JPY for every 30 minutes thereafter.
