Odaiba is one of Tokyo’s most visited tourist locations, filled with entertainment, shopping, and excitement. After a full day of enjoying all the best Odaiba has to offer, An-Spa offers you a relaxing way to end the day.

An-Spa is a Japanese relaxation and rejuvenation spa, located on the 3rd floor of the Grand Nikko Hotel Tokyo Daiba.

Upon entering, I was greeted with the incredible hospitality that Japan is known for. The quaint facilities were decorated in simple Japanese style, giving me a sense of calmness, luxury, and elegance.

The spa menu has four options:

  • “Mikimoto” Facial, a treatment using real pearl lotion during a custom facial.
  • “Shiseido Qi” Atheistic Therapy Body, a fusion of eastern and western style massage that promotes relaxation and self-healing.
  • Aromatherapy Body, an aroma oil treatment made from custom Japanese oils.
  • Dry Massage, geared towards quick relaxation and revitalization of fatigue after traveling.

Though my consultation was in Japanese, my questionnaire form was in English and I was easily able to communicate with staff, who made me feel comfortable and informed. I chose the recommended Aromatherapy Body treatment, a favorite of foreign visitors to An-Spa. There were three An-Spa exclusive oils: Mikan-Yuzu (orange and yuzu), Yuzu-Sakura (yuzu and cherry blossom), and Sandalwood. I was drawn to the Yuzu-Sakura.

Before starting the course, I was lead to a beautiful Japanese-style room. I sipped on the delicious corn Hojicha tea and enjoyed the sunlight, while taking in the calmness of the spa.

After finishing, I proceeded back to my tranquil room and waited for the masseuse. She was kind, gentle, and professional. She made sure I was comfortable and targeted the areas we had discussed during the consultation. Even when English was limited, she still made sure I understood everything that was going on.

I left An-Spa feeling relaxed and refreshed, ready to enjoy the remainder of my time in Odaiba – the complimentary serving of matcha after my treatment no doubt helped too. So if you are looking for a quiet moment to find calm, while experiencing the relaxation of a fine Japanese spa treatment, I recommend checking out An-Spa.

Open from 13:00-22:00 (last check in at 21:00).
