Hilton Osaka is inviting guests into the world of the Moomins next month with two events, each bringing the beloved characters of Finnish artist Tove Jansson to life in delicious ways. From August 1st to October 31st, 2025, fans can step into Moomin Valley without ever leaving the city.
Sweets Buffet - Moomin Valley Tea Party
Held at Folk Kitchen on the 2nd floor, this extravagant buffet captures the charm of the Moomin stories, which are especially adored here in Japan. The restaurant will be decked out with themed decorations, including a Moomin House and photo spots to make guests feel as if they’ve been invited to a tea party right in Moomin Valley.
Executive Pastry Chef Toshiharu Hyakuta has crafted around 25 Moomin-inspired sweets, like “Moomin’s Round Bottom,” a walnut and raspberry cake topped with pear mousse and flowers; “Moomin Valley Dyed in the Sunset,” a pistachio sponge with rhubarb jam and blueberry cream; and “Moominmamma’s Apron Cake,” layered with cinnamon bavarois, almond dacquoise, and orange cream. Savory items such as crepes, pasta, and salads round out the feast.

The event runs daily from 3pm until 4.30pm, and is priced from 5,500 JPY on weekdays, and 6,500 JPY on weekends & Obon (children half price; one child free per adult on weekdays outside Obon). For more information, visit the official site: details and reservations.
Little My Afternoon Tea
Downstairs at MYPLACE Cafe & Bar on the 1st floor, guests can indulge in a more intimate Moomin experience: an afternoon tea themed around the mischievous Little My. Served in a jewelry box-style case, this set brims with Little My-inspired sweet and savory items, which are perfect for leisurely hours of sipping tea.

This event runs from noon until 6pm, but please note there are limited quantities served each day. The afternoon tea is priced from 5,900 JPY on weekdays, and 6,500 JPY on weekends and over the Obon holiday period. For bookings or additional information, head to the official site: details and reservations.
With 2025 marking the 80th anniversary of the first Moomin story, there’s no better time to celebrate these whimsical characters. Lock in your reservations soon!
