From around late March to early April each year, Mie's Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park comes alive with the color of around 600 cherry trees in bloom. There is a festival held to celebrate all the natural beauty when the trees are at their peak, and the park was listed as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom viewing spots back in 1990. Aside from the blooms, the venue has a range of other fun amenities like playground equipment, tennis courts, and even a barbecue area (reservations are required).
Like all flower events, the exact dates can be subject to fluctuation from year to year depending on blooming conditions. Updates are likely to be posted on the official event website closer to the season. Admission to the park is free of charge.
