Kyoto is often imagined as the seat of tradition, culture, and Japanese history—and while all of that is true, it’s also a fun-loving and modern place to visit. No time is this truer than during the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair!
Visit the ancient capital of Kyoto during mid-to-late September to experience this two-day show celebrating everything anime and manga. Held at Miyako Messe/ROHM Theatre Kyoto (9am–5pm) and Kyoto International Manga Museum (10am–7pm), KYOMAF is also a show, market, and festival and one of the largest events in Kansai.
Tickets for 2026:
- Advance tickets cost ¥1,800, with free admission for elementart school students or younger. Same-day tickets are 2,300 yen.
- If you wish to attend the KYOMAF Stage (advance lottery system), and MiyakoMesse Stage (front seats by advance lottery), an advance ticket with stage viewing lottery application is recommended.
- For advance purchases, a common ticket option for 2,700 yen also includes admission to Kyoto International Manga Museum.
Be prepared to see amazing skills in the form of cosplayers, a character café, job fair, and even the Kyoto International Manga Awards. There is a free stage as well as the main stage that requires an additional reservation. Take part in the various anime-and-manga related workshops while trying to spot your favorite characters. It’s good wholesome fun that the whole family can enjoy.
