Delights of Kiyomizudera Temple 2

One of the most iconic temples in Kyoto and Japan

<p>I found this simple, yet beautiful, prayer altar just before the entrance to the temple</p>

<p>This huge impressive sign was hidden up among the rafters inside the temple. I asked some Japanese what it said but they couldn't read it! If anybody knows, please let me know!</p>

<p>After you've seen the temple, why not sit down and have some tea?</p>

Kiyomizudera is one of the most famous and beautiful temples in Japan. I visited the temple in the early morning on a day in early April and found a lot to enjoy: The views (of course!), the cherry blossoms (of course), and besides that, many little details. There was also a traveling monk who was accepting alms on the walkway up to the temple. I felt like a whole series on just him would have been possible!
