Yokohama's Osanbashi Pier area offers some breathtaking views due to its strategic location overlooking Tokyo Bay and the city skyline. This is enhanced even more at the Osanbashi Sakura Festival, which will see the Kujira no Senaka observation deck area decorated with faux sakura trees. Yes, they're not the real deal, but hey–that might be a plus if you suffer from seasonal allergies!
The observation deck is open 24 hours a day, and if you stop by after dark you can enjoy views of the moon reflecting on the water. The scenery here is so beautiful that it has even been named on Japan's list of "100 Famous Moons."
Getting there
The pier area is around five minutes on foot from Nihon-Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line. For those using JR lines, the closest station is Kannai Station on the Negishi Line – it's about 15 minutes away on foot.
