2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the much-loved Japanese manga character Doraemon, and Kanagawa's Fujiko F. Fujio Museum is hosting a special event in celebration of this. The 50th anniversary exhibition runs through the history and evolution of Doraemon, from print form to the big screen.
The museum shop has a range of limited edition 50th anniversary items for sale including postcard sets, and if you find yourself working up an appetite, the on-site cafe has some adorably presented Doraemon dishes to tempt your taste buds with.
Tickets are required for the museum in advance, and instructions on how to organize them can be found here.
Getting there
The Fujiko F. Fujio Museum is located approximately 16 minutes on foot from Mukogaoka Yuen Station on the Odakyu Line, or 15 minutes walk from Shukugawara Station on the JR Nambu Line.
As the venue has no dedicated parking lot, visitors are advised to visit by public transport wherever possible.
