Just down the street from Yokohama Chinatown's other temple/mausoleum is Masobyo, a temple dedicated to the safety of travelers. The temple is full of color and surprises, and I was particularly impressed by the wall plate carvings that adorn the outer walls of the main prayer building. There are scenes from the "Three Kingdoms" story, some very pretty flower plates, AND...a collections of absolutely gorgeous animal motifs. Spend some time circling the perimeter of the prayer hall and enjoy the loving details captured in each and every piece. This is beautiful art!
