Hachimantai Flower Land is a flower garden area on the base of Mt. Iwate. It has extensive gardens with a huge variety of flowers, a restaurant, some random alpacas, and a large and very popular rabbit petting area. It makes a perfect rest stop or side attraction without breaking the bank. Adult admission is 500 yen and junior high school age and under visitors are free. There are discounts for your second and third visit, while the fourth and over are free! Great place for couples or families, as well as anyone looking for a rest area.

Hachimantai Flower Land can be reached via a 15 minute taxi ride from JR Obuke Station. It is on the same road to Mt. Iwate's Yakehashiri Lava Flow.
