The Jojima area of Fukuoka's Kurume City is known as one of the best sake producing areas in the country, and the two-day Jojima Sake Festival is a celebration of this. Events in previous years have drawn crowds of close to 100,000 people, and there are plenty of opportunities to embrace the region's sake culture.
Attendees can compare and contrast brews from 8 different breweries in Jojima, with the standard 14 ticket plan priced at 1500 JPY. There are sake types worth one, two, or three tickets respectively depending on their grade. There is also an all you can drink plan which is 3500 JPY. Drink responsibly, and be sure to have a designated driver if you're coming by car.
Getting there
The event takes place at the Kurume City Jojima Chomin no mori Park, which can be accessed in around 10 minutes by taxi from Inuzuka Station on the Tenjin Ōmuta Line.
