With a history dating back to 1958, the Towada City Summer Fireworks Festival is a fixture on the Aomori events calendar in mid-August each year. The city is known as an arts and culture hub, and alongside the 2000 or so fireworks to be launched, the festival will also include a wide array of food booths and street artworks for visitors to explore.
For those who can't make the event in person, the fireworks will be live-streamed on the city's official YouTube channel here. Please note that in the case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be postponed until either the 15th or 17th of August.
