If there was a perfect alcoholic beverage to enjoy during cherry blossom season, it would have to be rosé. The pink hue of the wine mirrors the delicate sakura petals, and its light, refreshing taste just feels like it fits spring.
The Sakura Wine Festival at Aichi's Tsuruma Park merges the two, with attendees able to enjoy sampling from over 70 types of wine as they enjoy one of the prefecture's top cherry blossom viewing spots.
Admission to the event itself is free, but you must purchase a starter set in order to participate in the wine tasting event. These are priced at 3000 JPY when purchased in advance, or 4000 JPY on the day. Advance purchases can be arranged via Lawson stores – more information can be found here.
Getting there
Tsuruma Park is located just a minute on foot from Tsurumai Station, which is served by the JR Tsurumai Line.
