Latest on Aokigahara ForestI can't tell you what Fugaku Lava Cave is like because we decided not to go in, having just come from visiting Naruawa Ice cave where we nearly froze in our thin summer windbreakers. However we did walk along the forest path as far as the entrance and I couldn't help being fascinated by the volcanic landscape of Aokigahara. Exposed tree roots clung to the rough, rocky ground which was also pitted all over with holes formed by gas venting from the ground. I was able to image the violence and devastation of an erupting Mount Fuji.
