Tominoko Hotel is one of several hotels that sit along the edge of Lake Kawaguchi in southern Yamanashi Prefecture. It is a reasonably priced hotel that offers incredible views of the lake and Mt. Fuji.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating throughout your entire stay. As you enter the hotel, there is a gift shop and a small lounge beside the front desk. The dining area can also be found on this main floor, and it offers a spectacular lakeside view. The rooms are spacious and clean, larger than your typical Japanese hotel room. The vanity and shower area are ample enough to put out any toiletries you might bring. The bed was very comfortable, guaranteeing a good night’s rest. If weather permits, you'll wake up to a gorgeous scenic view directly outside of your window. The regular rooms have a TV, free Wi-Fi, tea, and a coffee maker. There is also an option to reserve an upgraded room featuring a balcony, flat-screen TV, and a sofa bed.
Other perks offered during your stay are free parking and a shuttle to/from the train station. Breakfast and dinner are usually included and are served in a large room on the first floor. The meals are very tasty, with an assortment of Japanese and Western choices. During dinner, dessert is included and there is alcohol available for purchase. Across the street, in front of the hotel, is a lovely walking path along the edge of the lake. It offers a beautiful stroll with great views at any time of the day. On the other side of the lake, only a short drive or bus ride from the hotel, more shops and restaurants are available to all visitors.
