The Fuefuki area of Yamanashi Prefecture is renowned for its springtime beauty, and though there are plenty of cherry blossom trees here, the real highlight are the peach blossoms. Around 300,000 peach trees bloom in the early April timeframe, coloring the region in a lovely pink hue.

The Fuefuki Spring Carnival is a celebration of this stunning season, and there are numerous events held during late March and early April for visitors to enjoy. These include cherry blossom and peach blossom viewing courses, evening illumination events, fireworks, and more. A full list of the venues and the events taking place throughout the carnival can be found on the official website.

Getting there

A starting point for the spring beauty in the area is the Fuefuki City Yatsushirofurusato Park - there are around 300 cherry trees here. It can be accessed within around 10 minutes from the Ichinomiya-Misaka IC on the Chuo Expressway, or around 20 minutes by taxi from the Isawa-Onsen Station on the JR Chuo Line.
