Winter Illumination events are everywhere in Japan, and with so many places to choose from, we narrowed it down to places we'd never been before. Ultimately, we ended up traveling to Tokyo Dome City. A leisure complex famous for Tokyo Dome Stadium, amusement park, LaQua natural spa, and Tokyo Dome Hotel.
The Tokyo Dome City Winter Illumination 2014 is themed "Promenade of Light." Featuring an amazing 2.2 million LEDs around the area and an "Ultraman Road" embellished with Ultraman Themed light decorations. A number of gigantic 6-meter Christmas Trees can also be found standing near the fountain shows of LaQua Complex. It was extremely cold that night so don't forget to dress up all nice and warm.
Getting there
Tokyo Dome City is easily accessible from Suidobashi Station (JR Chuo Line), Korakuen Station (Marunouchi and Namboku Subway Lines), or Kasuga Station (Oedo and Mita Subway Lines). Tokyo Dome City Winter Illumination runs from November 6, 2014 to February 15, 2015 between 17:00 and 25:00. There's no entrance fee.
