When Nov 3rd 2020 - Jan 24th 2021, 10:30am - 4:30pm

Loosdorf Castle is located close to Vienna, the capital city of Austria, and was once home to a large collection of Imari ware ceramics. After the events of World War II, many pieces from the castle's ceramics collection were completely destroyed. A special event at the Okura Museum of Art looks at these broken yet beautiful ceramic pieces, as well as items which have been faithfully restored thanks to Japanese technology.

Along with pieces from the Loosdorf Castle collection, the event will also exhibit pieces borrowed from the Kyushu Ceramic Museum in Saga Prefecture.

Getting there

The Okura Museum of Art is located 5 minutes on foot from Roppongi Station, served by the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, or 7 minutes on foot from Exit 4B of Kamiyacho Station, served by the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

For those who plan to drive to the museum, do note that there's no dedicated parking lot so public transportation is advised.
