If you're in Shibuya and need a break from the noise and crowds, then just behind the Hikarie tower, Nanzuka is a small, quiet basement art gallery. Displays change every month, and you might see sculpture or painting in a wide range of styles: portraits or abstracts, graceful or bizarre, lively or muted. I like to drop in every now and then, both to catch my breath and hopefully find something new and interesting.

I came to Japan from Manchester, England in 2003, and have travelled a lot since then, around Japan and in Asia. When I'm not working, I write satire and perform stand-up comedy in and around Tokyo. Check YouTube for a taste.
