In between Roppongi Hills Mori Tower and TV Asahi building is a small but beautiful Japanese garden, named Mori Garden after the astronaut Dr. Mamoru Mori. In the center of the garden, there’s a small pond with lily pads and a type of small fish known as medaka. These fish are known as “Space medaka” because they are descendants of the fish Dr. Mori took with him to space. The garden features a gold heart sculpture called Kin no Kokoro (Golden Heart) by the artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. Mori Garden is a great place to walk around during lunch breaks or in-between shopping.
