World-famous cosmetic's brand L'Occitane have recently opened several cafes around the world but none yet in Korea, so many Korean tourists visit the Shibuya branch when in Tokyo.
The L'Occitane store is on the 1st floor while the cafe is located on both the 2nd and 3rd floors. I was lucky to get a seat since it is always crowded. It seems like it's famous because they sell dessert so you can sit and chat about your new beauty purchases with your friends while eating gorgeous-looking cake. If you sit by the window, you can look out over the famous Shibuya Crossing too.
It was a rainy day when I was there so the photos didn't turn out great but it was totally worth the visit.
My friend and I ordered two drinks and had a chat, and the pretty French interior made for a sophisticated yet relaxing atmosphere. They had a lot of young female customers in their 20s and 30s who were obviously interested in beauty products.
True to the store's natural-beauty philosophy, the teas are mainly herbal and most of the desserts also had lots of fruit in them.
To be honest, all of that organic French-ness comes at a price - we paid somewhere between 800 yen to 1000 yen each - but I would say it's great value if you want some restorative, beautifying time on your trip.
They have three locations - Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro - all are close to stations and tourist spots so they're easy to find. The Shibuya branch is only a minute from the station; come out of the Hachiko exit and head left to the big crossing, you'll be able to see the store and cafe on the other side.
If you are a guy, you should definitely bring your girlfriend here, she'll love it!
