The Ikebukuro Bread Festival has been running for over a decade now, and the six-day event sees over 50 bakeries descending on the Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro with a wide variety of bread-based treats. From baguettes and croissants to cinnamon rolls and toasted sandwiches, there are both sweet and savory goodies catering to most people's tastebuds!
A lot of the breads on offer will have unique Japanese flavors and a focus on seasonality, with fillings like anpan (red bean paste), chestnuts, and even sweet potato.
While there is no admission fee to enjoy the atmosphere of the event, please bring yen if you plan on making any purchases.
