‘The b Suidobashi’ hotel, formerly known as Dormy Inn Suidobashi, is a 5-minute walk from Suidobashi Station on the JR and subway lines and the same distance from Tokyo Dome City. Despite the lively neighborhood, the hotel’s surrounding area is actually very quiet.

There is a variety of rooms, including some with extra beds or sofas. I was fortunate to receive a discount for the deluxe room with extra sofa bed with which my friend from Nagano could stay with me for two days. Rooms have all the necessary facilities, including air conditioner, private bathroom with free toiletries, an electric kettle, a fridge, TV and free internet.

The hotel offers a buffet breakfast in its dining room and complimentary coffee for newly arriving guests. The front desk is open 24 hours. You will also find a coin launderette with washing machines and dryers. Very convenient, indeed, when travelling.

The highlight of the hotel is its hot public bath, free for guests. This indoor bath was fantastic as it was made out of wood and decorated with plants. Whenever I visited, either alone or with my friend, morning or evening, there was nobody there at all. One day we found some oranges floating in the water while on other days, a piece of wood and even leeks! The aroma of the water reflected these objects and it was quite unusual. The hotel also offers a sauna and massage services.

What I liked about the hotel (as well as in most Japanese hotels) is that the rooms were sound-proof and I was never bothered by people in other rooms. I also liked the location as Tokyo Dome City is one of my most favorite places in Tokyo, with many shops, attractions and restaurants and the beautiful traditional Koishikawa Korakuen garden is a 10-15-minute walk from the hotel.

I have no problems recommending The b Suidobashi hotel, even with its unusual name!
