Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro is located a 3-minute walk from the west entrance of Ikebukuro station. It's a City Hotel (one step up from a business hotel, usually more expensive and luxurious) with a restaurant, sports gym and business center.
Whether you are staying for business or pleasure, Hotel Metropolitan has a variety of rooms to meet your needs, from standard rooms to Suites on the top floor.
I stayed in the Executive Suite on the 24th floor, which is restricted to Suite guests only. The 25th and top floor is reserved for restaurants only.
There are two sizes of Executive suites, one which is 23 square meters and the other which is 35 square meters. I had reserved the 35 square meter room with a king-sized bed.
The interior of the Executive Room has a modern Japanese concept. When you walk into the room, you will be amazed by the classy, elegant atmosphere. I was personally very pleased with the room! The spacious bed is manufactured by Simmons and comfortable to slip into at the end of a long day.
The room also includes - among other things - an air purifier with a humidifier function, a refrigerator, TV, and SONY Bluetooth speaker. The bath and sink are separate, and there is nothing lacking with the other amenities.
The internet, which you can connect to via LAN cable or through Wi-Fi, is complimentary. The password and information is in the information packet in the room so there is no need to sign up at the front desk. If you have any trouble connecting to the internet, you can always contact the Concierge desk and request help from the service center which is on the first floor near the front desk and business center.
Dinner is on the 25th floor. If you feel like having a formal dinner, head to "Cuisine Est." If formal isn't your cup of tea, try out the more casual "Dining & Bar Ovest." Either way you'll enjoy a pleasant dinner and you gaze out at the beautiful night scenery from the very top floor of the hotel.
