If you're after a unique place to stay in Tokyo, in a more off-the-beaten-path neighborhood, Hoshino Resorts OMO5 Hotel in Otsuka offers both convenient access to major tourist destinations and a world of new spots to explore.
The hotel was opened in May 2018, and the rooms here are set up in a space-maximizing way. The bedding is accessed by climbing stairs to a loft area, with a comfortable sitting area underneath. This design makes the accommodation feel significantly larger than the square footage would have you believe.
Otsuka is easily accessible from spots like Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro via the JR Yamanote Line, which completes a circle loop around Tokyo. The Otsuka area is particularly renowned for its Showa period styled izakaya, and you'll find many options for great places to eat in the streets surrounding the hotel. Alternatively, there is the on-site OMO Cafe serving up an array of tasty fare throughout the day.
If you do need help finding spots to eat or interesting sights in the area, the hotel also offers neighborhood tours through their OMO Ranger program. If you'd like to get involved in one of these tours, check with reception staff.
Getting there
Hoshino Resorts OMO5 Otsuka is located a minute on foot from Otsuka Station, on the JR Yamanote Line.
