Comiket 85 Convention in Tokyo

<p>Tokyo Big Sight is a massive building with many halls opened up for different events. The people swarming around look almost like ants. </p>

<p>Every area of the building was filled with people, there were many security guards around too, making sure everyone is behaving and not doing any vandalizing. </p>

<p>Many people were dressed in full body suits of very interesting animal like characters and they were always ready to pose for photographers. </p>

<p>Humans were not the only costumed heroes at this convention, many people were cosplaying robots. </p>

<p>Some people had very accurate costumes, this was the most tame robot of the bunch.</p>

<p>I saw the predator at Comiket and I survived the experience. </p>

<p>Many people put a lot of thought and effort into the making of their costumes including bodypainting themselves to match the character's skin. </p>

<p>All of the cosplayers loved to pose for photos, many times they were taking photos of each other. </p>

<p>Inside the building everyone was swarming around and going to all the different rooms to see and buy different merchandise. </p>

<p>The top floor had many booths sponsored by companies, they also had models more than willing to pose for photos. </p>

<p>This model was advertising a new game for her booth, I thought she had the most amazing boots in existence. </p>

<p>Some people have intricate costumes, and some people just wanted to hang out with their friends wearing wigs and school uniforms. </p>

<p>This one was one of the more simple and complex outfits at the same time, it was incredibly shiny. </p>

<p>The convention is a great time to network with other like-minded people and exchange personal information for future meetings. </p>

<p>In the end a lot of fun was had by all, a lot of merchandise was sold and many yen were spent by fans of anime and manga. Of course the trains were jam-packed at the end of the day as well. </p>

On a very warm December weekend I descended upon the biggest anime and comic book convention in the world at the Tokyo Big Sight building in Odaiba, for the Comiket 85 event. There were many people dressed in different outfits and most of them were eager to pose for photos outside. People spent a lot of time and a lot of money at this event. I highly recommend this event for anyone who loves anime and manga and wants to see different characters being cosplayed. There is also great merchandise from retailers and private individuals selling their wares.
