Warehouse Terrada is set to host "Blurred: Intersecting Boundaries," a special exhibition blending traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary art, from September 11th to 28th, 2025. The event will take place at Bonded Gallery, located within the Terrada Art Complex II in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
This unique three-person exhibition features artists Yuki Nara, Masayoshi Nojo, and Ayako Kuno, who each explore the concept of boundaries—physical, conceptual, and cultural—through their innovative works. By reinterpreting traditional techniques such as ceramics, foil application, and metal casting, the artists challenge the clear-cut divisions we often accept in art and everyday life, revealing the beauty found in blurred intersections.
Yuki Nara, an architect and ceramic artist, combines cutting-edge technology with age-old ceramic traditions to create pieces like his "Bone Flower," which fuses architecture and craft. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, and he continues to push the boundaries of material and design.
Masayoshi Nojo uses foil in her "Mirage" series to create ephemeral visual experiences that explore memory and the fleeting nature of landscapes. Her contemporary take on traditional Japanese painting techniques invites viewers to reflect on time and perception.
Ayako Kuno focuses on intricate metal sculptures using the lost-wax casting technique. Inspired by urban environments, his detailed works capture the complexity and dynamism of city life, transforming heavy materials into delicate forms.
The exhibition is part of TENNOZ ART WEEK 2025 and is free to the public, open daily from noon to 7 pm. It offers a rare opportunity to experience a dialogue between tradition and modernity, where boundaries dissolve and art continuously evolves.
