Towa Pure Cottages

Glamping, cottages, houses, & campgrounds to choose from

Kim Bergström   - 2 min read

The Nasu area of Tochigi Prefecture is a popular destination to enjoy hot springs, outdoor activities like hiking, and winter sports in the colder months. If you're considering a stay in this part of Japan in the future, Towa Pure Cottages is located just two minutes drive from Nasu Highland Ranch and offers a variety of accommodation types including glamping domes. In addition, some of the rooms are pet-friendly, which can often be hard to find in Japan.

The glamping domes are certainly one of the highlights, and part of their appeal lies in their transparency – but never fear, they do have curtains as well to maintain privacy from other guests. The domes are decked out with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a bed, sofa, refrigerator, and air conditioning, making for a nice middle ground between traditional camping and a regular hotel.

If you would prefer more traditional lodging options, they have you covered there as well. They offer full houses to rent out, Scandinavian-style cottages, or even campground sites for those who appreciate that rustic approach.

Reservations for any of the lodging types at Towa Pure Cottages can be made by visiting their website here.

Getting there

Towa Pure Cottages can be accessed in around 20 minutes from the Nasu IC or around 30 minutes from the Kuroiso-Itamuro IC on the Tohoku Expressway. Free on-site parking is available.

For those visiting the area via the Tohoku Shinkansen, a free shuttle bus service is available from Nasushiobara Station. The travel time is approximately 40 minutes, and reservations are required for the service – please call 0287-78-1164 to arrange them.

For those using the JR Tohoku Line, head to Kuroiso Station and take the Kanto Motor Bus bound for Nasu Highland Park for about 60 minutes. Please note that the Kanto Motor Bus only operates on weekends and holidays.
