Latest on Mount Fuji

The hiking trail up Mount Fuji is only open for a short few months each year. The trail is very busy for most if not all of the season. The trail, which winds its way up the mountain, is gravel and at steady grade, though it gets rocky and steep towards the top half.

The walk is difficult due to the altitude, I advise you to read about altitude sickness before you leave and be prepared.

You can buy drinks, food and even beer at most of the huts. However, expect the prices to be as steep as the mountain.

The view from the top is fantastic on a clear day if you are lucky enough to get no fog.
