Jogasaki coast is an amazingly scenic section of the Izu peninsula’s eastern coastline and is a beautiful example of a sawtooth coastline. It was formed by lava flows from Mt.Omuro and comprises mostly of ragged cliffs and coves making for some gorgeous views of the Pacific along the 9 km hiking trail adjoining the rugged shore. Jogasaki coast can be reached by a 10 min bus ride from the Izu-Kogen station and thereafter one can walk up the hiking trail among the woods for about 15-20 min to reach the suspension bridge and the lighthouse. The colors of the Pacific were an amazing shade of glorious blue and the view was simply stunning !!!
