Just a minute from Atami station, Heiwa-dori is a traditional old covered shopping arcade, running downhill with another parallel arcade next to it. There are cafes, sushi-shops and restaurants serving the seafood for which the town is known, fishmongers with squids and fish drying on meshes outside, souvenir shops selling gifts of every kind, and plenty more besides.
If you've been in town for a weekend or day-trip, it's a good place to stop before you leave for some dinner or last-minute gift shopping.
