Inspired in part by songkran festivals in South-East Asia, the Water and World Festa at Keyaki Hiroba offers a perfect way to cool off during Japan's hot and humid summer season.
Running for almost 20 years now, the event provides fun for all age groups – along with all the splashing for adults and older children, there's also a pool for those aged three and under in the adjacent lawn area.
Aside from all of the water-based fun, the "world" portion of the event will include cultural experience areas, street food from all corners of the globe, and a world market selling a variety of internationally-sourced items, from clothing to accessories and plenty more.
There is no admission fee to enjoy the event, but bring yen if you plan on purchasing food or items from the world market.
Getting there
Keyaki Hiroba is located just 3 minutes on foot from Saitama-Shintoshin Station (by the Saitama Super Arena), which is served by the JR Tohoku Main Line.
